Brace yourselves, Democrats. This 110th Congress we all worked so hard to give you is about to get taken off the table.
RealClearPolitics:
Addressing a Republican fund-raising dinner at the Washington Convention Center last Wednesday night, President Bush declared: "If the Democrats want to test us, that's why they give the president the veto. I'm looking forward to vetoing excessive spending, and I'm looking forward to having the United States Congress support my veto.
Have I thanked you lately, Democrats? No? Well then let me thank you right now for taking Impeachment off the table. I'm really looking forward to 600 more days of nauseating hypocrisy from this war criminal president who's done such a heckuva job controlling spending.
Refusing to Impeach sure seems to be having some consequences, doesn't it? Can you spell c-o-n-s-e-q-u-e-n-c-e-s, Democrats? No?
WELL HERE'S SOME ANYWAY:
RealClearPolitics:
Bush plans to veto the Homeland Security appropriations bill nearing final passage, followed by vetoes of eight more money bills sent him by the Democratic-controlled Congress. That constitutes a veto onslaught of historic proportions from a president who did not reject a single bill during his first term.
Hmmm . . . a veto onslaught of historic proportions . . .
What a surprise! Who could have expected something like that? After all, it's not like we've had an onslaught against the Constitution of historic proportions, or an onslaught against our electoral system of historic proportions, or an onslaught against Department of Justice integrity of historic proportions, or an onslaught against the Geneva Conventions of historic proportions, or an onslaught against the environment of historic proportions, or an onslaught of historic proportions against that balanced budget President Clinton left us, against our intelligence agencies and the privacy of our citizens and the objectivity of our media and on everything America has stood for since 17 fucking 76.
Wait . . .
Are you ready for this latest onslaught, Madame Speaker?
Apparently not . . .
What? You don't have enough votes to stop this nasty onslaughting president and his onslaughting Republicans? Your majority in Congress isn't large enough?
Andrew Jackson, one of our greatest Democratic presidents, had an opinion on that: "ONE MAN WITH COURAGE IS A MAJORITY."
Have you ever heard of courage, Madame Speaker? Have you ever heard of courage, all you Democrats who voted to keep funding this target practice against American soldiers, Praise the War Profiteers and Pass the Annihilation, Muslim civil war?
Obviously NOT. Courage is as rare on Capitol Hill as an honored oath of office. It's as rare as telling the truth and taking responsibility. It's as rare as a brain cell in a Republican skull.
There's plenty of blood-stained hands though. And plenty of excuses and posturing and earmarks and K-Street phone calls that always get answered quickly while the needs and wishes of 300 million Americans get ignored.
We're off the table, just like the Constitution and the 110th Congress. The Decider has VETOED us all. The most despised president to ever draw a breath in the White House is going to subject us to 600 more days of hell if he is not Impeached.
GOD.
DAMN.
IT.
DEMOCRATS.
IMPEACH THAT SON OF A BITCH!
It's 5 AM, but before I grab a few hours of sleep I'm going to ask if at least a few of the tens of thousands of progressives who read Daily Kos every day could take a couple minutes out of their busy How Many Times is Bush Going to Fuck Us Over Today? musings and Sign the Pledge at IraqMoratorium.org, so the 600 lonely people who've signed so far won't feel completely forsaken and abandoned by the rest of this dynamic, ass-kicking, juggernaut of a Progressive Movement.
Thanks.
